Making the First Move
If we follow islam the way we are supposed to, instead for "Muslim eyes only", we can make some headway.
Most of us are only interact with Muslims. We go to work, but duck in and duck out, without people really noticing that we are Muslims. We are not engaged in community affairs, I mean the community at large. We are not seen in many circles that are involved in community service.
Until we as a community come out of our shell, we will always struggle to be recognized as anything other than terrorists. The people have nothing positive to say about us, so they will stick to the negative they hear from others.
